Thanksgiving is a time for family, food, and thankfulness. Most of us live hectic lives, always on the move with barely enough time in the day to stop and think. But Thanksgiving is one holiday where we pause long enough to ask what am I thankful for?

Thanksgiving Every Day

Some people start gratitude journals or engage in gratitude programs to elevate our moods and vibrate along with the universe instead of fighting against it. I have had great success with some gratitude meditation programs. However, like many things as our lives get busy and time moves on, those things fall by the wayside.

A lot of spiritual gurus have said that gratitude is the most powerful emotion you can have and promotes more positive outcomes in your life simply by doing things that allow you to feel grateful more often. I propose that we take our tip from our Thanksgiving habit and form a gratitude ritual every day. Not only is it a beautiful thing to list the things you are thankful for, but the positive result that takes place on a deep level within our spiritual being is even more beneficial.

What I am Thankful for This Year

The list of things I am thankful for is immense, but I want to put down on paper a few of the most important. There is power in writing, so even if I whisper them in my prayers each night, putting them here too is even more impactful.

I am thankful for:

  • My daughter.
  • Qi my cat.
  • Our safe living space.
  • My good health.
  • Our family.
  • Work.
  • My spiritual journey complete with all the fixings.
  • Friends.
  • Growth and learning.
  • God/The Universe.

I could go on and on, but these are the things that I take a little time each day to be thankful for. Ending my day with a bit of gratitude and starting my day with thanks helps me to have a good day.

I wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving, and I hope you take a little time to remember what you are most thankful for in life and bask in the glow of some beautiful gratitude.
